People and culture are the same thing. This spotlight series showcases Sentra’s incredible employees helping build the future of data-centric security.

Tell us about your background

I started my career in Unit 8200, where I developed various backend systems and explored a range of technologies, particularly in networking and cyber security. After my service, I worked on embedded systems at Microsoft, and later transitioned into the fascinating world of data engineering at Sentra. Here, I’ve dived into data pipelines, machine learning, and everything related to handling and protecting data.

Why did you choose to work at Sentra, and when did you join?

I joined Sentra in February 2022. For me, this was a no-brainer. I knew the founders from my time in Unit 8200, and I also knew that the founding engineers were some of the best people I’ve ever worked with. At the time, I was looking to transition from the big-corp world of Microsoft to the dynamic realm of startups. The pace, the impact, and the opportunity to build something new from scratch were exactly what I was looking for.

What is your role and what are your responsibilities?
I’m the Data Engineering Team Lead, part of the larger data team at Sentra. My work revolves around designing and implementing backend systems that are central to what Sentra does—handling data. Whether it’s building data pipelines, managing MLOps, or crafting scalable, efficient tools, everything aligns with Sentra’s mission of protecting data.

What advice do you have for people getting started in your field?

Stay curious and never stop learning. Dive into projects that challenge you and surround yourself with people who inspire you to think differently.

What’s the best thing about working at Sentra?

The people. Sentra is full of incredibly talented individuals, whether they’re engineers, product managers, sales or marketing. It’s inspiring to work with such a driven and passionate team every day.

Can you tell me something surprising you discovered while working at Sentra?

I thought working at Sentra would be a walk in the park because of the exceptional talent on the team. But I quickly discovered that nothing is simply granted. Everyone here works incredibly hard and stays hungry to win each customer. It’s a super competitive field, and I feel lucky to be part of one of the leaders in it.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?

Manhattan, easy. It’s like Tel Aviv on steroids! I’ve always loved huge parks, and I’d take Central Park over the Tel Aviv coastline any day.

What's on your professional 'bucket list' that you'd like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years?

A research study I read recently revealed that publicly announcing your goals makes you less likely to achieve them—so I’m going to keep this one to myself ;).
