People and culture are the same thing. This spotlight series showcases Sentra’s incredible employees helping build the future of data-centric security.

Tell us about your background

I have been working in the tech industry for several years now, with a focus on backend software development. I started my journey at SolarEdge Technologies, where I developed expertise in big data, IoT, and real-time systems, primarily working with technologies like Spring-Boot, Kafka, and Redis. Before that, I served as a data analyst, honing my skills in data collection and interpretation using Python and SQL. I am passionate about building efficient and scalable systems that have a real-world impact, and always looking for new challenges.

Why did you choose to work at Sentra, and when did you join?

I joined Sentra in May 2024. I was drawn to the company because of its innovative approach to data-centric security. Sentra is tackling some of the most critical challenges around data privacy and protection, which I believe is a key concern in today’s digital world. The company’s mission and vision aligned perfectly with my passion for working on cutting-edge technology that makes a difference.

What is your role and what are your responsibilities?
At Sentra, I am a Backend Developer on the Data Detection and Response (DDR) team. My responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable backend services that enable real-time data threat detection and response across various cloud environments. This involves designing microservices, constructing efficient data pipelines, and integrating with security workflows to ensure seamless monitoring and automated remediation of data security risks. Our DDR system focuses on detecting suspicious access to sensitive data, preventing data exfiltration, and managing threats like ransomware, all while reducing alert fatigue and streamlining response times

What advice do you have for people getting started in your field?

My advice would be to continuously learn and adapt. Technology evolves rapidly, and staying up to date with the latest frameworks, languages, and best practices is crucial. Additionally, understanding the big picture—how systems interact and communicate—is just as important as mastering specific technical skills. Lastly, never underestimate the importance of teamwork and communication. As much as this field is about solving complex problems, it’s also about collaborating with others to find the best solutions.

What’s the best thing about working at Sentra?

The best thing about working at Sentra is the people and the culture. Collaboration is at the heart of everything, with a team of talented, driven individuals who are passionate about innovative data security solutions. Sentra fosters an inclusive environment where every idea is valued, empowering creativity and diverse problem-solving. There’s a strong sense of ownership across the board, with everyone united by a shared mission, making it an inspiring and supportive place to work.

Can you tell me something surprising you discovered while working at Sentra?

One surprising discovery is how much emphasis the company places on understanding and integrating customer feedback into product development. I’ve always known it’s important, but at Sentra, it’s not just a formality—it’s a central part of the development process, and it drives many of our decisions. This approach has made me realize the profound impact direct user feedback can have on product innovation.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?

If I could live anywhere, I would choose either Thailand or New Zealand. Thailand offers a unique mix of vibrant culture and natural beauty, while New Zealand is known for its incredible landscapes and laid-back lifestyle. Both places offer a slower pace of life and are great for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures and experiencing different cultures.

What's on your professional 'bucket list' that you'd like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I want to expand my technical expertise in backend development, particularly in real-time systems, big data, and cloud technologies. Alongside this, I’m looking to gradually step into leadership roles where I can mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team environment. My goal is to gain experience leading projects and teams without losing focus on hands-on development. Ultimately, I plan to leverage these skills and experiences to launch my own tech startup, where I can innovate and solve problems in data-centric industries.
