People and culture are the same thing. This spotlight series showcases Sentra’s incredible employees helping build the future of data-centric security.
Tell us about your background
I work at Sentra as a Senior Full Stack Engineer, bringing many years of experience developing and managing exciting and meaningful projects in the IDF’s 8200 Unit, both as a software engineer and a team leader (as an officer). I hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science and am currently studying for an MBA at Tel Aviv University. In addition, I have been playing the piano and drums for many years, and I also enjoy running.
Why did you choose to work at Sentra, and when did you join?
I joined Sentra in March of 2024. After graduating from 8200, I knew I wanted to join a fast-paced and meaningful startup in the Cybersecurity field, particularly one focused on the cloud. Fortunately, I found Sentra, which was a perfect match for me. I was also very impressed by Sentra's innovative approach to addressing the data security problem, which made joining the team even more exciting.
What is your role and what are your responsibilities?
As a Full Stack Engineer on the Application team at Sentra, I am responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining key parts of the product, including the frontend application and the application-based backend services. My role involves understanding both product and client needs to design scalable and effective solutions. I collaborate with teams across the company to deliver end to end implementations that bring important and valuable features to production.
What advice do you have for people getting started in your field?
Always look at the bigger picture, it’s true in every aspect of life, but especially in full stack development (:
As a full stack engineer, you often work across teams with many different people, and almost every feature requires end to end thinking.
Don’t wait for others to define the ‘bigger picture’ of your features for you. Instead, take the initiative to consider what the true definition of done is for your feature throughout the entire development process.
What’s the best thing about working at Sentra?
The people. I feel fortunate to work with passionate, highly skilled individuals who treat each other with respect and welcome every idea with an open mind. This creates an amazing organizational culture that makes Sentra a great place to work.
Can you tell me something surprising you discovered while working at Sentra?
You can do everything much faster than you think you can and still achieve amazing results
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose and why?
Definitely Italy. I’ve been there many times, and each visit is better than the last. I absolutely love the combination of unique culture and incredible food. This country truly offers the best of both worlds.
What's on your professional 'bucket list' that you'd like to accomplish in the next 5-10 years?
My goal for the next few years is to be the best I can be in my field by staying at the forefront of technology, aiming to be in key positions, and continuously expanding my skills. I aim to work on meaningful projects that solve real-world problems and create a major impact, while building great professional connections with talented people along the way.
